Well I can honety say I had the best 27 hours of my life this time last week, I arrived at Buckingham Palace at 11am on Thurs 28th April, along with my daughter and husband who did not really want to be there and were planning on leaving me in the evening!

I found a great spot to set up camp out side the Palace with full view of The Balcony, we were soon very settled with fold up chairs, coffee and sandwiches etc. Within minutes I had a number of great new friends including a mother and 6 year old daughter from Watford, a GUY from Australia with his English girlfriend and a lady from South Africa.  It was a real party atmosphere already, traffic was buzzing past, film crews were interviewing us and photographers were everywhere, we got really blaze about having our picture taken, I am sure we are on the front pages of Italian daily paper and Australian TV!!!  As more and more people joined us it got more and more exciting, a couple of ladies joined us from Illinois USA, just flown in that day, came straight down to the Palace and would be leaving on Monday after the Wedding… wow.  Then the traffic was stopped and the road was cleared at 10pm, out came the sniffer dogs, they did such a great job.  We had a chat with Michael Portilo who was very impressed with our great spot, here are a few other non Royals who we saw – Sharon Osbourne, Australian Prime Minister, Adrian Childs, Eamon Holmes, Brandon Cole (Strictly Come Dancing)

So we got a few cold hours of sleep before the sun came up at just after 5am, here we are.

But things were hotting up all the road cleaners, police and the armed guards all started to arrive, they put out the red carpet and the frills on the balcony.  We watched the Queen depart, she looked stunning in yellow don’t you agree.

Kate looked amazing in her Alexandra McQueen dress, (which I did blog about a few weeks ago, The Times got that one right?)as she glided past on her way to Church in the fantastic Rolls Royce with her father.  Then we got to hear the bridal service from the speakers which were set up, we all listening, singing and enjoying this historic event happening before our eyes.

We did not have to wait long to see the beautiful Kate and William, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the open top carriage, they looked so happy together and gave out lots of waves and smiles. This was one of the best shots, as I was sooo excited (sorry I am not a photographer!!)

We then watched all the other guest arrive…..

They are a fabulous modern couple who a deeply in love it is very clear to see.  This day has done wonders for the Wedding Industry, new dresses will be designed, rings, earrings, make-up, bridesmaids, cars, horse and carriages all duplicated

That was truly a magnificent day which only the British can do, my family and I will never forgot that we were there on the the day our future Kind got married…………

There will be a New Fashion Show this evening at Nadee in Findern Derby, which is being presented by Fabulous Wedding Boutique of Spondon.  It will take place in The Nadee’s fabulous fixed marquee there will be a selection of Brides and Bridesmaids dresses from all of the designer dresses.  Come along and take advantage of a free glass of bubbly and canapes upon arrival.  The Wedding Guide will be there too..

Well what can I say about The Derby Wedding Show at the Assembly Rooms yesterday, we welcomed over 280 Brides and Grooms-to-be to the Show with over 800 people attending. It was truly a great day with over 70 wedding suppliers attending – the place was buzzing, the girls were greeted by 2 wedding car suppliers Occasions and and A & C Vintage Cars, followed by a free ice cream from Chris at The Icicle Tricycle.  They were entrained with 2 professional wedding cat walk shows, giving ideas for brides, grooms, mother of the bride, bridesmaids and page boys – the little boy and girl where so cute, I could not have walked up and down the cat walk in front of over 200 people!!!  If you attended please let me know what you thought, did you enjoy it, find the suppliers you were looking for?? As a supplier what did you think, did you gain bookings from the Brides who attended?

Further to my blog on Friday I was interested to read yesterday in a prestigious Sunday Newspaper front page yesterday that Kate will be wearing a wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton creative designer of Alexander McQueen.  The dress will be a combination of Kate and Sarah ideas as Kate would like to make her own mark on the dress and include her own quirky elegance and discretion. I cannot wait to see it, watch this space to see if this report comes true!!!……..

Dont know about you but I feel there is a real buzz at wedding fayres so far this year, I have attended over 20 so far this year and I believe there are a lot more of you brides and grooms to be, coming along planning your weddings for this year or perhaps 2012.

Do you think this may be because of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate?  I think they make a great couple and I am very exciting about their wedding, what type of wedding gown will she wear? Designer, designed by herself, of the peg!! Let me know what you think?  I will be going to London with my family, finding a spot on The Mall, camping out all night, for a glimpse of the Royal couple, I will keep you posted on how we get on!!!
